Learn traditional upholstery; Day, Evening or Short Courses in Lincoln
|
Upholstery Courses Our Upholstery Courses teach traditional upholstery skills and techniques at a pace to suit you. Complete beginners are welcome, as are those with some previous experience in upholstery. Our teaching courses run along side our main workshop, and students are taught in the same large workspace where our own craftsmen work. You are therefore able to observe professional upholsterers in action at our Lincolnshire workshops and learn from them. You can learn how to upholster drop-in seats, pin-cushion seats, overstuffed seats with springs, deep-buttoning, and try working with webbing, twine, cord, calico, hessian, flock, wadding and fabrics. Understand what an edge-roll is how to tie knots. Our tutors are highly skilled craftspeople who have worked in the trade for many years. We believe that this unique teaching environment is what makes our courses so special and rewarding for students. Our adjoining cabinet making workshop is on hand so that any woodwork repairs needed to your project can also be incorporated into the course. Workshop and Accommodation Our workshops are based in Nettleham, a small village just north of the historic Cathedral city of Lincoln. Parking is available on site and Nettleham and Lincoln are great places to visit if you are from outside the city. Uphill Lincoln boasts some of the best historical buildings in the United Kingdom. Lincoln Cathedral with the Castle adjacent, is surrounded by quaint shops in the Bailgate area, leading down Steep Hill with its medieval buildings, restaurants and tea shops. Bed and Breakfast accommodation is available nearby, either in the village or a couple of miles away in Lincoln itself. Accommodation costs are not included in the course fees.
